A 4.2-meter ritual bath survives near Jerusalem’s Temple Mount

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem announced a late Second Temple–period purification complex near the Triple Gate. The site includes three mikva’ot, a plastered pool, a paved plaza and an extensive water system. Its central pool measures approximately 12 by 9.5 meters, while the complex covers approximately 280 square meters. Researchers say it most likely served Jewish pilgrims, though the water source remains partly provisional.
