Neuroscientist Laura Fontenas will study motor exit point (MEP) glia, newly identified cells that produce myelin around motor nerves. The zebrafish project will track how they migrate and test whether they can repair damaged myelin. It is basic, preclinical research, not a treatment or clinical trial.
